To provide quality, personalized, cost-effective inspection services using sound engineering principles and a strong foundation in the relevant API and ASME codes and standards that govern the design of tanks, piping, and pressure vessels.
Gary W. Powers, P.E. has dedicated a lifetime in the fuels industry. He’s pioneered the design and inspection of tanks under MS-DOS well before any modern computing, crawled in and out of about every confined space you could think of, touched, felt, and seen almost every imaginable damage mechanism, and has been involved and played key roles in regulatory, management, and quality control positions of fuel systems, all over the world. He has demonstrated engineering in its truest form – through the application of science and math by way of all human senses to observe, learn, apply, fail, and persevere to solve real problems. More importantly, people have and always will be his priority and Powers Engineering & Inspection Inc. (PEI) is a culmination of that passion for solving problems and for building relationships.
Gary founded the company in 1999. Since then, we’ve been through some of the most tumultuous economic conditions in US history juxtaposed with some of the biggest technological growth ever. PEI has survived the waves, and in the process, learned to adapt to new challenges. We did away with the old traditional industrial-revolution-corporate-structures in favor of efficiency, adaptability, and agility. This model allows for better flow of information between people, more streamlined communications, and decentralize management to allow us to operate a team of teams and focuses on building better relationships with our clients and colleagues.
Through Gary’s vision and continued support, we believe we are equipped with the necessary tools to tackle the new challenges of the modern world. We have people with fresh new ideas and skills with the same passion and people-focused mindset.
Our goal is to build on the technically sound foundation Gary has laid, maintain existing relationships, foster new ones, and allow for organic growth where it is needed.
